"My recent work are drawings that loosely map the experience of what happens when things are stirred up. I’m trying to capture the disturbing feeling of chaos as an underlying, organizing principle, so these pieces are attempts to hold disparate urges simultaneously and equally.

The drawings are built up by layers of brush strokes painted with watercolor, sumi ink and/or gouache and acrylic using traditional bamboo brushes. Repeated brush strokes and shapes are caught in mazes of swooping lines, patterns and forms that create different layers of space and tensions."
