‘Chitra Ganesh’s painting “Wedding Night” raises many questions about women’s roles. The shrouded women in the back represent the disapproving public that young Indian women live in fear of. The artist, who graduated from Brown University, points out, “ The way women are represented in the media impacts what really happens, and there is a real correlation between the picture and the fact – they both produce each other.”’
