"As a child I was often fascinated by the beauty of light filtering through tiny cracks of wood paneling in a darkened room. These remembered images perhaps relate to the simplified forms of rock structures, insect shapes or womb formations that I now use. I like the painting to open up from depths and break down to slow, lyrical movements. I work to achieve this quality with my use of space."
