Arthur Liou worked as a video journalist in Taiwan in the early 90s. Part of his work centers on the media phenomenon as common memory and institution. His work format ranges from archival inkject prints, web media, video installation, to high-definition video display. His project 'Picture(s)' received Rising Star Award in Fotofusion 2004 conference, while the work traveled throughout the United States, including Northwestern University, University of North Carolina, Nexus Gallery, New York, CEPA gallery, Buffalo, Buddy Holly Center, Lubbock, TX., J. Martin Gallery, Indianapolis, and Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, Chicago. His video installation series 'Things that are edible' was reported by Indianapolis Star as one of the top 5 visual art events in Indianapolis in 2002. He received an MFA in Electronic Intermedia and Photography from the University of Florida. Currently teaching at Indiana University, he offers a wide range of courses on video, multimedia, and digital imaging.
